Can I appeal my child's PSLE result?

SEAB allows a review of marks within a fixed window after results are released. The form comes with the result slip. The review checks for marking and tabulation errors only, not re-grading. Most reviews don't change the AL. If you genuinely think a subject mark looks wrong, the form is there. If you're submitting it because you didn't like the result, save your money.

When do secondary school postings come out?

Posting results come out roughly 4 weeks after results day. The exact date is published by MOE. You'll be notified through Parents Gateway and the school posting portal. The interim period is the longest four weeks of the year, but obsessive portal-refreshing won't move the timeline up.

What if my child wants to switch schools later?

Mid-year transfers between secondary schools do happen but are rare and usually require either a physical relocation or a strong case. End-of-year S1-to-S2 transfers are slightly more common but still subject to vacancies. The honest answer: plan as if your S1 posting is where they'll complete secondary school. Re-evaluate at the end of S1 if the fit is genuinely wrong.

What happens if my child gets a DSA offer they don't want?

On results day you can choose to release the DSA place. Once you release, the place goes back to the school's pool and you can't get it back. If your child's AL is good enough that they have better options through Phase 1, releasing makes sense. If their AL is borderline, hold onto the DSA, it's a guaranteed place and that matters.

How long do we have to submit Phase 1 school choices?

Phase 1 typically opens within a day or two of results day and stays open for about a week. You rank up to six schools. Take a day to rest first, then sit down with the latest COP data and a map. Don't submit on the last hour of the last day, the portal sometimes lags under load.
