Get to know each school

Chung Cheng High School (Yishun)

Chung Cheng High Yishun shares its 1939 origins with Chung Cheng Main. When the Goodman Road campus opened in 1947, the original Kim Yam Road campus became the Branch school. It moved to Guillemard Road in 1969, began English-stream classes in 1981, and operated across Guillemard and a Sembawang holding site during preparations for the northern move. The completed Yishun campus brought a new name in 2005; its official opening followed on 30 June 2006.

The aesthetics LLP lists Secondary 2 design-thinking and interest-based workshops, Secondary 1 interactive-video work, photography and engagement with artists. Its tiered structure also includes exhibitions and competitions; the page does not establish that every student receives every listed opportunity. MOE records a food science and technology ALP introduced in 2014. The current ALP page has little readable detail, so families should confirm today's year-level content rather than assume the historical description is the full current programme.

Temasek Junior College

Temasek JC began in 1977 in Bedok, taking Singapore’s old name, meaning “Sea Town”. Its early teachers developed the motto For College, For Nation. MOE records the Humanities Scholarship centre from 1982, Music Elective Scholarship centre from 1986 and Chinese Language Elective Scholarship centre from 1990. The six-year Integrated Programme launched in 2013, following an earlier four-year programme in 2005. These milestones explain the specialist strands available today; they should not be read as every student receiving a scholarship or taking every elective.

The college’s later relocation notice puts the former Tampines JC holding site in use from January 2024 through December 2027, with the rebuilt Bedok campus expected from January 2028. This supersedes the older 2022/2025 timeline still displayed in MOE’s history page. The rebuilding page describes planned separate IP and JC teaching blocks, configurable learning spaces, sports and music facilities, and a heritage trail. These are future facilities, not the current holding-campus offer. Check the latest confirmed move date and both journeys when considering a cohort that may study across the transition.
